Top 3 Reasons to Send Your Kid to Camp
Perhaps you have considered sending a child or teen to camp for the first time but are still on the fence about it. If you send your child to camp they will:
1. Learn new things – the camp experience is rich with learning. Campers have the opportunity to learn many new skills ranging from archery, climbing, horsemanship, canoeing, survival, or more! Every camper is also given the opportunity to learn about the Gospel through our chapel times and cabin talk times. Some of the other things campers learn include an appreciation for the outdoors, social skills and what healthy community living looks like. Your camper will have stories for days after camp about things they got to learn and experience.
2. Grow in Independence – The thought of sending a son or daughter to camp for the first time can be a little intimidating but don’t worry… mom will be ok :). A week at camp is great opportunity to practice independence in a safe environment. Our summer team works very hard to help every camper have a great week, make lifelong memories, and begin to practice some independence. The week of camp is often harder for mom and dad than for campers, but don’t worry, you can do it!
3. Grow in Confidence – another great benefit of sending a kid to camp is they have the opportunity to grow in confidence. This confidence is gained as they introduce themselves to their cabin mates, participate in the camp activities (which are planned in a way that kids can and do succeed) and by experiencing the community at camp.
